The operation performance of medium-depth buried pipe heat pump heating systems is significantly affected by local geothermal conditions. In view of the lack of geothermal geological data in new construction projects, this paper presents the field test platform and method of this technology, which can clearly determine the practical application effect in the early stage of construction. The method is applied to a new project in the cold zone of China. The measured results show that the maximum heat extraction capacity of a middle-depth buried pipe with a buried depth of 2 750 m in continuous operation reaches 450 kW, and the maximum heat supply capacity of a heat pump unit reaches 600 kW. In addition, an experimental research on the heat extraction characteristics of the middle-depth buried pipe and the operation characteristics of the heat pump system is carried out, which can provide data support for the project planning and design and the application of the technology.
